Here at the Summit we recognize the profound impact our time together on Sundays has in shaping us as a community. Below is a description of what you can expect at one of our weekly gatherings. They move in three purposeful rhythms as God CALLS, EQUIPS, and SENDS us as His people:
Our time together begins with a Call to Worship as we recognize that God Himself invites us to proclaim His great name. We then respond to this call by Singing in Worship together. Our singing focuses us on the character of God, gives us opportunity to confess sin, and moves us to exalt the forgiveness we have in Jesus and our empowerment by His Spirit.
We then tangibly seek to submit ourselves to the truth of God through the Reading and Preaching of the Word, a time in which the Bible is explained and applied to our lives. This culminates in Communion where those who follow Jesus remember and celebrate His death and resurrection by the taking of bread and wine together.
This last portion is typically marked by new believers proclaiming their new life in Christ through Baptism, or by the Commissioning of new members into the Summit family. Our gathering closes with a Benediction where we are all sent out into the city as missionaries, having been equipped and filled by His presence.
If you have any questions about our meetings, or would prefer to grab coffee before coming to one of our meetings, email email@example.com.
We also meet during the week at our City Groups, and after our Sunday night gathering our CIty Groups scatter to various restaurants throughout the city to share a meal together. This is a great opportunity to get introduced to groups as well as the people in them.
