Clarity: The Wisdom of Proverbs
Most of us carry the assumption that we see life clearly - that we know what will lead to our happiness, fulfillment, and flourishing. However, if we reflect on any of our major mistakes in life, we begin to recognize that the vision we have is not as good as we initially thought. We’ve all made mistakes that stemmed from the belief, “the way I see it, this is going to go really well for me.”
The good news that is at the heart of the Christian faith is the belief that Jesus gives sight to the blind - not just in a physical sense, but in a spiritual manner as well. That through the gospel, Jesus gives us the capacity to see the world as we should, and truly discern what is good, right, and true for our lives.
The book of Proverbs is more than a collection of pithy sayings or good advice, but rather the application of the gift of sight that the gospel brings. It is an in-breaking of God’s wisdom that comes through Jesus so that we finally can see life clearly for the first time. We’re thankful you’re with us on this journey through Proverbs, and we’re so excited about the clarity God is going to create in your life in the coming weeks.
