Alpha: A Conversation About Faith

Our next round
begins June 2.

What is Alpha?

Alpha is an open and informal conversation about life, spirituality, and the person of Jesus without judgement or pressure. We want to hear your thoughts and questions as we explore these themes together without the pressured atmosphere that usually comes with these conversations.

In short, it’s a series of casual sessions over dinner exploring faith, running over several consecutive weeks. Each talk looks at a different question and is designed to create conversation. Everyone is welcome.

How it works

6:30 – 7:10pm: Dinner + Hangout
Grab a plate, meet someone new or catch up with a friend, and settle in.

7:10 – 7:45pm: Welcome + Short Film
Each week we watch a short film designed to spark curiosity—on questions like What is God really like? and Who is Jesus?

7:45 – 8:30pm: Open Discussion
This is the heart of Alpha. Around tables we share thoughts, questions, and stories stirred up by the film. Say as much or as little as you’d like.

We’ll wrap by 8:30 to respect everyone’s time—but conversations can continue down the block at a spot on Larimer, or be revisited in following weeks.

FAQs.

  • Yes. Alpha is especially for those who are curious about faith but don’t yet follow Jesus—it’s a safe space to ask questions and explore.

And if you do follow Jesus, Alpha is for you too: it’s the perfect place to invite friends who are curious about your faith and come alongside them as they explore.

  • Each night is simple and welcoming. We share dinner around a table, watch a short film on a foundational question answered in light of the gospel of Jesus, and then open space for honest conversation. There’s no pressure to have answers—just room to listen, ask, and share if you’d like.

  • That’s totally okay. Come when you can, and if you miss a week, just jump back in the next time. Alpha is an ongoing conversation—not a class—so you won’t fall behind.

  • Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet—and it means “beginning.” In the Bible, Jesus is called the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. That’s where Alpha gets its name: it’s a starting point for exploring faith.

Today, Alpha is used in churches around the world as a space for open, honest conversations about life, spirituality, and Jesus. It runs in over 140 countries and is supported by Alpha International, a nonprofit helping churches create spaces like this one where people can feel safe to bring their questions, perspectives, and stories.

You’re invited.
